The 2nd annual World Cup Juniors Youth Soccer Tournament was hosted at Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex (MVSC) over the course of two days, June 28-29, 2014.  Similarly to last year's first annual event, the 2014 tournament was a tremendous success, showcasing a well organized and flawless event in which over 150 children participated and thoroughly enjoyed their time participating as their favorite countries during this World Cup year, in this charitable team competition.

The 2014 World Cup Jrs. Tournament was MVSC's second year running hosting this event, and the first year that the event was hosted in the beautiful MVSC indoor facility, which helped increase the total number of touches for each player, and creating some very exciting and well played games by all youth participants and coaches.  This year's event will benefit the 2014 World Cup Jrs. Title Chartiy, Two Million Readers, who were kind enough to put together a "pop-up" library at MVSC throughout the tournament in which all youth participants and attendees were invited to take up to four books, free of charge, in an effort to help the youth in the Louisville Community continue to stay active and read over their Summer break.

This year's event consisted of two age groups with multiple teams competing in each age the u9+u10 age group, as well as the u11+u12 age group.  Perhaps (hopefully) a sign of things to come in the FIFA World Cup, "Team USA" emerged victorious in each of the aforementioned age groups (Photo below shows the u9+u10 Team USA winners on the left, and the u11+u12 Team USA winners to the right).

MVSC would like to send a special "THANK YOU" to the many supporters of this event, including the University of Louisville Head Men's Soccer Coach, Ken Lolla and his wife Tina Lolla for helping MVSC connect with its title charity, Two Million Readers, all through their continuous outreach and interaction with the Louisville Community to help the youth find their potential with positive support.  Please visit www.findingyourfgifts.com to see just how the Lolla family creatively reach out to envision, encourage and empower Louisville's youth in so many different ways.

Additionally, MVSC would like to thank Jan Winter and Two Million Readers for serving as the title charity for the 2014 World Cup Jrs. Tournament.  A special thanks also goes out to all of the youth participants, coaches, parents and fans who came out to enjoy a great weekend of friendly competition at MVSC together!  The success of this event and the potential for its growth in the future are all due to the supporters of this event, and MVSC is proud to play host to such a wonderful charitable event and give back to the Louisville Community that gives all of us so much.
