Mockingbird Valley Soccer Club’s Marissa Williams was recently named Miss Soccer by the Kentucky High School Girls’ Coaching Association and was selected as a High School All-American by the National Soccer Coaches of America Association. Williams, who is a member of the U18 MVSC Girls Premier Team (94 Girls), scored 15 goals and had 14 assists for South Oldham High School in the 2011 season. Last spring, Williams led her MVSC team to its first ever Kentucky State Cup Championship. The team also won its division in the Midwest Regional League in 2011 and will now compete in the MRL Premier Division in 2012.
Williams is a central midfield player who is technically superior and has the ability to score and set up goals. She is smooth and calm on the ball and usually dictates the tempo for the team when in possession. In addition to abilities on the field, Williams is a dedicated athlete and a tireless worker. She is a leader by example and a great teammate. Marissa is verbally committed to play soccer at Mississippi State University in the fall of 2012.
MVSC is extremely proud of Marissa’s recent accomplishments and wishes her and the 94 Girls Premier Team the best of luck this year.
