Field Hockey FAQ
How do I sign my daughter up for Mockingbird Field Hockey camps, programs, or leagues?
You can visit us online at mockingbirdsoccer.net/field-hockey-overview where you can register online or print out a registration form that you can email to email@example.com (Kristen Wallace) OR mail, fax, drop off to Mockingbird. You can also pick up a registration form at Mockingbird – they are located in the kiosk in the middle of the two fields. You can pay online when you register, pay at our concession stand by check, cash, or credit card, OR mail in a check to Mockingbird (checks must be made payable to Mockingbird Field Hockey).
What equipment does my daughter need to participate in field hockey camps,
leagues or programs?
She needs a mouth guard, shin guards, stick, protective eyewear, and turf or tennis shoes. You can purchase field hockey equipment at Shively Sporting Goods, Dicks Sporting Goods, or Play It Again Sports.
What field hockey programs / leagues does MVSC have?
We have a 1st - 2nd Grade Development League, 3rd - 4th Grade Development League, and an Adult League (only offered in Spring and Summer). Space is limited and spots are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. You can also check our website for the most up-to-date field hockey program information.
Do you register with a team or individually?
Our 1st - 2nd and 3rd - 4th Development Leagues are individual registration ONLY. You can make a request on the registration form to have your daughter placed on a team with her friends and / or teammates. 7th & 8th grade, High School, and Adult Leagues are Team Registration ONLY and the registration form MUST be filled out by the team organizer/coach.
What do the Development Leagues entail?
The 1st - 2nd and 3rd - 4th Grade Development Leagues includes a Game Day and a Practice Day. Practice Days will include skill instruction and drills to incorporate skills into game-like setting. These days will also be used to expand on players’ performances on Game Days. Unlike a typical “league”, our development league will allow players to work and develop their skills in both practice and game settings.
Who coaches the field hockey programs?
Mockingbird’s field hockey staff coach and officiate all leagues and programs at MVSC. The field hockey coaches on our staff have all played, or currently play, high school or Division I and II college field hockey for various universities. They are extremely knowledgeable and have experienced the sport at some of the highest levels. Please feel free to ask them any questions you may have regarding our sessions or the sport.
